Aerial Fiber already up on the power lines, Been told that FTTN is soon going to be finished, but have gotten no updates.

ATT started putting up the lines around September of 2021, (As of writing this it is currently April of 2022) I did not ask about it until I actually noticed it which was around 2 months ago, The fiber lines would need to run (According to google maps distance calculators) about 1,245 ft. The neighborhood does not have any power lines that are above ground, therefore it needs to go from aerial to underground while running to homes. I am wondering how much longer it should take. I will post updates when/if it ever gets installed.
If ATT employees need this, I am already an ATT Customer with phone and internet 50. ATT Says it should take around 2 weeks to a month now.

It could be 6 months to a year for service to be active. If it’s even available on your street.

@browndk26 Are you completely sure? Even with what ATT Says? ( I know they are supposed to say that to make customers feel better) Because the installation indeed started around 7 months ago for ATT Fiber.

We understand fast internet is a must, @deleoa3

Here are some reasons why fiber may not be available in your area:

  1. Distance – AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.
  2. Equipment is not available – To get service, AT&T Internet equipment has to be in the area. In some instances, it isn't. We do not have information if or when it will be.
  3. The area is not built for U-verse – some areas are not U-verse ready. The Community team does not have information if or when it will be. Distance and equipment can play a key in instances like this.
  4. Another competitor services there area - This happens from time to time but it does not mean all services are not available to you. Check out other internet options below!

Note: In order to get higher speeds, you must be within a certain distance of the serving equipment or the equipment must be present in the area. Points 1 and 2 apply in these scenarios. If internet is not available, there are other options.

If you believe it should be available in your area, but it doesn't show up when you try to order service, you can fill out an address research request. Just fill out the form, and we'll look into it and get back to you!

Finally, we recommend signing up for fiber notifications. When fiber is available in your area, we'll let you know!

If you have any other questions, just let us know! Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums!

ATT does not publicly announce where and when fiber is deployed. All you can do is wait and see if they start putting fiber on your street. Check addresses on the streets you see new lines. They may not have fiber available yet either.
