Wire safty issue (Buried wire department refused to help)
About 6 months ago I got ATT fiber. They had to do some digging across the street but my service is now up and running. when they came back they burried the wire on my side of the street, left a pile (30 feet) of fiber cable across the street on the ground. They never came back and did anything with it. I moved it on top of the eletrical box and forgot about it. So today I called the burried line department. The service tech told me that "if this is not affecting your service, you may be billed for the service call". The rep refused to listen to this being a safty issue and transfered me to technical support, I was sent to a black hole where I sat on hole for 45 minuets before hanging up. Kids play on this street and its just awful that I cant get at&t to fix this.

Call your local codes or city government. Or just throw it away.

The crew that buries does not do connections in the pedestal or the NID.
Please call 800.288.2020 to report exposed wire on ground… nothing more.
When a tech is dispatched the tech will need to pull excess into the pedestal, cut the fiber and reconnect…
I suspect based upon design of base, that is a fusion splice pedestal which requires a core tech, a Uverse tech could perform a mechanical splice or create a ticket for core tech.
I suspect the burial crew pulled the excess fiber wire from your side of street and left it for company employee tech to deal with on the terminal side of street.
