Will Corded Phone Work In Power Outage After Switching from DSL to ATT Fiber Internet?

I have ATT DSL. My coded phone works during a power outage, no matter how long the outage lasts. No power needed. No battery backups needed. I plug the phone into the phone jack and it works. After switching to ATT Fiber Internet will the corded phone still work this way or will it be dependent on power and only work as long as a battery backup lasts? Can anyone give me a definitive answer on this?

Thank You

Glad to answer your question about whether or not your phone will work during an outage, rdhgog.

If you take a look at our guide that covers Battery backup for Wi-Fi gateway, you'll find the following passage:

"To keep your phone service during a power outage, you need a battery backup for your gateway. If your home requires more than one device (for example, both a Wi-Fi gateway and an ONT), you need a battery backup for each piece of equipment. Your equipment may use internal or external battery backups."
