We want Fiber in Winnemucca Nevada USA

Why does AT&T not offer fiber directly to homes/residences in Winnemucca Nevada?

Businesses are able to get fiber, but not personal residences.

It is available to homes in Reno and Sparks Nevada.

People in Winnemucca have a high income, it's a mining town.  There are several forums in this town, which state that the people in this town value and prioritize fiber internet and are willing to pay more $ for it. There are several small internet companies in Winnemucca.  Most people are using Zito because they offer faster speeds, but they are not reliable (lot of outages).  Zito, Performance Computing (PC), and 5D internet all lease the fiber lines from AT&T.  Many of their customers get much faster speeds than AT&T offers to its customers.  Also these other companies provide radio fed internet option to customers!

There is a huge market here that AT&T could get if provided fiber to its customers.

Why not make it available to homes?  More and more people are working from home now, homeschooling their children, distance learning, gaming, etc.

Please provide details as to when AT&T will be providing fiber internet to the folks in Winnemucca!

Have you given up?  Just waiting for Starlink to take all the rural business?

There is no public information on when (if ever) AT&T will provide fiber to an area. And the reasons of why or why not are not disclosed either.

Be careful what you wish for. Just got them installed and is been the worst experience. Even cable internet provider was better and I thought they were bad. I want to go back to them now!

Where are the trunk lines coming into Winnemucca and who owns them?    Along I-80?   AT&T?   Zito Media?  Other?    Are there any maps, drawings?  as-builts?    Bob
