The fibre-optic line needs to be buried, AT&T has simply covered it under the soil instead of burying the line.

I have fiber-optic installed on Dec 1st.  It is now Dec 30th and the line has yet to be buried.  I have called the buried cable hotline and just get the run around.  They how constantly lied about sending someone.  Only one person has come and he was a technician.  All he did was pull the remaining line out from under the mulch.  The company did not bury the line but just covered it under mulch.  ATT is a joke.  They will not call you back .

I have been trying to sign up for att fiber for two years now.  They never have time to answer my questions.  Thankfully, your question answered mine since I would have to have it underground also.  Definitely doesn't sound like its worth the constant nightmare having to deal with ATT.  I'll probably just stay with cable or go with one of the new 5G home internet services.

Now waiting for burial cable contractor lead who is suppose to be here by 12.  Nearly 1pm.  Yesterday's tech never showed up.   Doesn't surprise me.  Another runaround by ATT.  30 days with cable laying out on ground.   I have made at least 10 calls to ATT burial cable number.   Just a waste.   Just people who know nothing and will do nothing.    ATT SERVICE IS A JOKE.

I got the same run around but in my case the fiber was cut a house down the street on 11/18 and as of today 11/30 43 days after the cut I have no service. all I get from AT&T customer service is that they will get a contractor out to fix it. 43 days without service.

@ Constructive. I see you delete some of your comments towards me.  Unfortunately to you, I still get them on my emails.  You comment on things you have no knowledge of .    You call yourself an ATT employee??  Why don't you be helpful and help people instead of smart (Edited per community guidelines) comebacks on this site.

@Constructive does not have the ability to do anything but post on these forums.  Most likely someone else removed posts because of the personal attacks, which are against the forum rules. https://www.att.com/legal/terms.forumguidelines.html

You have a legit complaint and if you want to be able to continue posting about that issue let's ease up on the Shiner Beer and avoid attacking anyone.  Deal?

Whatever.   Just talked with my third tech today.   Just like I mentioned to Mr Constructive,  he puts ALL the blame on ATT.  He stated the service has sucked bad the last several years and the quality of people working for the company has gone downhill.   This is from your own tech,  not I.  When someone has an issue with ATT, then have an employee on the forum state that the problem is not ATT, then what the tech said today is exactly the problem --ATT.   Mr constructive is trying to tell the story of what is going on and he never was here or know the whole problem.   Just like the person accidentally posting the wrong month and he knew it but has to remark.   Again spend less time on Forum and be more constructive like assisting in phones or getting a ticket created.   Mr constructive offered no advice,  but just tried to shift blame.   The tech today stated the problem at ATT is just getting worse.    Couldn't agree more with people like Mr constructive.

Again sMDH your clueless I worked contract admin for 3 years. Yes I hired the contractors that did the digging. Boring tree trimming etc. I would send a job out to said contractor The contractor would get the job but say we’re behind 3 months. We can’t force them to drop everything as AT&T isn’t the only company they contract for. Your tech is an (Edited per community guidelines) and has no clue how this side of the house works.

@ShinerBeer

I was with the installer when he installed the line.  The line as on top of the mulch when he left.  The buried cable crew buried the first 10 ft in 3inches of dirt (6 minimum is required - something you probably don't know, and the rest(100ft) buried under mulch.  I was there, you were not.  So just move on....

Since you were with the installer you could have grabbed a flat blade spade shovel and finished the direct bury Fiber drop 6 inches under the ground and have saved everyone  time and money. If only you thought about helping.

The Buried Wire Center dispatches contractors to bury any Fiber drops. Prior to Covid-19 most markets had 6 contractor crews and now most markets are lucky if they have 1 crew that shows up on semi regular regular basis.
