Requesting fiber

Hi,

I recently purchased a new construction home in Riverside, Ca. Our neighborhood has 10 new homes. For some reason the developer had att install copper rather than fiber. This has caused all of us to have very slow internet connections. There are no other internet options currently in the neighborhood. How can I request that att consider bringing fiber into our neighborhood? Thank you.

We are happy that you are interested in AT&T Fiber, @Theeastgate.

Please submit a AT&T Fiber Internet neighborhood request form. The form is on the very bottom of the Fill out the form with your property information. One of our experts will determine if your property is eligible for AT&T Fiber and will be in touch to discuss a custom solution that fits your needs.

We hope that this is helpful!

@hatchet414 save yourself some pain and just order Spectrum and get over it until AT&T decides to expand services further to include your side of the street with Fiber to replace copper service.

Fiber can't just be extended to cover additional addresses. When Fiber is installed it is assigned to a specific area and each covered address is assigned a port on a Fiber terminal.

The coverage area tends to stop at  a street or at an intersection. It makes it easier to know where coverage is available.

What you can do is to check the addresses on either side of your address (same side of the street) using this link below. Unless the tool shows service at one of them, you can just stop trying.

Thank you to @dave006 for the useful information.

Here is more information on if AT&T internet is going to be available for you.

We recommend that you fill out a for so that we can research your address and about bringing our services to your property.

We desperately need fiber at the new home we purchased. We were told fiber was just run. When I try to fill out the form to request it there is no option for a home just apartment or condo.

I have had AT&T for 26 years, We moved to Canton, Ohio in 2018. I was sad that I had to give up my AT&T internet due to not enough speed for my husbands gaming and all the stuff we use for internet. So I currently have spectrum and I hate it. Then I heard about fiber internet and have been calling to check availability in my area and it’s still not available. My address is 1000 11th Street Nw, Canton OH 44703, I think my area would love the chance and the option to have fiber internet all my neighbors hate spectrum too. We want AT&T back in my neighborhood. Please consider expanding to my area.

@Jadenrilei

If fiber was just run, meaning placed but no terminal, testing, etc… expect 2 to 6 months.

As this year is just about over with last 2 weeks being short weeks due to holidays I would expect 1st or 2nd quarter of 2022 before addresses turned green for ordering.

Check the address online every couple weeks…

No front facing employee would have any knowledge of if or when till the online database has been updated. At that point you can order online or use a person to order desired service.

The last time my address was updated was in 2007 and AT&T still only offers 18 mbps since 2007. I have checked my address and it says fiber will never be offered in my area, that’s why I am filling out the request form.

Our home we are moving into was built in 2016, we have about 15 other houses in our neighborhood. AT&T does not offer any services in the area and we are stuck using SAT connection. Is there anyway to get Fiber put in this area? Buck Run, South Mills NC.

@Fontenot1834

The telco provider (ILEC) is CenturyLink…

Do not expect ATT to overbuild from scratch in an area they do not control.

We are trying to request Fiber be installed on our street since the surrounding area already has fiber services. I have not been able to get any traction or contact with someone who can help our HOA get these services. Most of our community has businesses or works from home. We are trying to increase the value of our homes and increase the efficiency of local small businesses.

@ladyaz

Planning can take up to 2 years…

ATT is adding 3 million residential fiber addresses each year till end 2025.

Currently 18 million addresses have FTTP (premise/home) fiber available with another 22+ million having FTTN (fiber to the node). FTTN has internet speeds of 100, 75, 50, 25 depending on facilities and copper loop length from fiber facilities.

By 2026 50% of ATT hardwired addresses will be direct fiber (30 million), the other 50% will have same options as today. Which half you will be is a wait / see or be proactive by relocation to a known fiber address.

@razerislovehoe

ATT Fiber is already in zip code 90001.

Not all addresses will receive fiber,you may need to relocate to a fiber address or wait for 4 to 5 years to determine if the service comes to your address. 50% of all residential hardwired addresses within 21 state footprint will have direct fiber by 2026… another 4 years.

my area only had 50mbps speeds and it's misleading to say its in a zip code when its only 50% in the area has fiber and can i request for installing or not
