Requesting Fiber to Modernize Rural America
Hello, World!
I would like to request fiber optic internet service in my area which is rural. 95693. My landlord is looking into it as well and filled out the request form.
We have multiple households at our address so looking at the number of properties in the area is not an accurate depiction of the need. Most likely the residents didn’t fill out the 2020 census survey either.
I’m moving from NYC where I work as a quantitative risk analyst and need the bandwidth to stay in the area. This is where I grew up in the 90’s and it’s still stuck in that decade.
Does anyone have any suggestions or can tell me what I’m up against? I’d like to stay here to help the community but it’s not going to go very far without internet and communication capabilities.

Is anyone still interested in this? I just posted something for my area. Although the demand isn’t here now, I’m hoping
the potential service demand and the potential social benefit might give this opportunity more consideration. Thanks

Wilton is not a part of the ATT footprint, the ILEC for the zip code is FRONTIER who purchased GTE/Verizon areas of California, Florida, Texas in 2015.

Over the past several years the government has held auctions for bidders to provide service to rural America... this includes many different companies including satellite company.
May wish to find if a winning bidder has your zip code to provide coverage, normally has 6 years to complete the awarded area with expectation of about 20% per year.
