Request Fiber Optic Internet

Our neighborhood is current only less than 100 feet from a fiber optic cable that runs through the city. I was wondering if a way to get an AT&T Technician to install fiber optics in our homes.

Are fiber terminals being installed to provide home connections? Aerial from pole, buried with raised terminal or buried with handhold

If this is residential fiber should be able to order in 6 months or less (2nd or 3rd quarter). Will have door to door contractor sales showing up in neighborhood about time scheduled to go live for service along with direct mailings.

Hello @kechon,

I’m glad to hear you are interested in getting AT&T Fiber set up in your home! We want to be able to provide the services you desire as soon as possible.

We are still in the process of expanding the network to provide the most coverage to our customers. You can access our Coverage Map where you can check availability at your address. If it is, you can click here to see what plans are offered.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Have a great day!

This does not answer the question. We want to know if we can specifically request to expedite coverage to our specific address.

Is there a way to speed up the process, we are under a HOA so it will be multiple homes being upgraded to fiber.

Have the HOA contact ATT Connected Community, generally works with MDU apartment, condo complexes.

Please note fiber near does not mean residential fiber, could be fiber backhaul for cell tower or business fiber paying hundrrfd to thousands per month for their 1-1 connection and SLA.

Residential fiber would require a PFP placement (google for images). Depending on cabinet placed would support up to 288, 432 or 864 connection. This is a 32:1 splitter using 2.5G cable.

The direct fiber deployment (2015-2019) of 12.5 million addresses in at least 67 markets in 21 states is a government condition of approving the 2015 DirecTv purchase. End of 2017, 7 million addresses were available with 3 million to be added in 2018 and 2019.

On order of scale by 2020...

FTTN from VRAD with speeds of 100, 75, 50, 25, 18 depending on copper loop ftom VRAD and card being used. Has Uverse IPTV and 30+ million addresses (40%)

ADSL2+ fiber to CO or RT with copper loop length,  speeds of 18, 10, 5, 3, 1.5 and .75 at 2.5 miles of copper about 20 million addresses (26.67%)  will have this option

FTTP or Direct Fiber with speeds from 1000 down to 50 based on what customer willing to pay for will have 12.5+ million or about 18%.

For the remaining about 12.5-15 million addresses that will have NO hardwired option. 1.1 million will have fixed wireless option while most all others will have 4G LTE, 5G wireless mobility WHPI option.

Hey @kechon,

I definitely understand wanting to have AT&T Fiber available as soon as possible, and we are working to expand as fast as we can. There are a few things needed to maintain those speeds in your area, and it is possible they have not been met yet. You can click here to see more information on the requirements for this type of service.

At the bottom of this page you can enter your email to receive updates about when services will become available for you.

Thank you so much for your time and business with us! We love having you as part of the family. Have a great day!

@my thoughts
I have already contacted my HOA to look into fiber optics, but meanwhile, I continue to push for an earlier installation of fiber optics in our neighborhood. To my knowledge, my city has fiber optics lines around the whole city and currently offers 1:1 speeds of 1000 down, since my friend less than 1 mile from my home already has AT&T fiber installed about a week ago.
I am not too sure if we currently have PFP placement, but I see about 3 covers with the  ATT label on them and 1 Fiber optic cover on the main st of our HOA which is about 300 ft from my home.

Hello @kechon,

I understand wanting to have the services available to you as soon as possible. There is currently not a way for us to speed up the process of installing the services. We are certainly working to expand as quickly as possible, and are excited to have you on board when it becomes available.

We sincerely appreciate the patience! If the website says Fiber is currently not available at your address, signing up for the mailing list will allow you to receive a notification as soon as it is. Thank you for your wonderful business, and have a great day!

Count me in too. I am 463 feet away from a house/street that can get fiber 1000. As a homeowner, I'd consider letting equipment be installed in my backyard

They are installing fiber optic cable across my front lawn. Does this mean I will have service availability soon, or do I need to request it be branched off to my house?

Is there any way to find out from AT&T if they plan on coming to my neighborhood next? If door-to-door sales teams are what they do surely there is some sort of plan in place well ahead of when they are actually installing the service no? Fiber 1000 is available 1.4 miles from my house and looking at the coverage maps they seem to be slowly moving south in my direction. I'd love to know if there is any hope whatsoever of getting fiber in the future or if I am stuck with this unreliable Spectrum gig package forever.

I have been trying to get Fiber for 2 years now, I know the lines have been ran. You removed my mail box too put them in. I called the county to find out that it was AT&T running the lines. But i still get told i cant get fiber at my location. I ask customer service who i can speak too and they tell me nothing. They wont transfer me too anyone and have no clue what to do. I have called every month for 2 years. I AM CALLING COMCAST TO PAY THE $3,000 TO RUN A LINE TO MY HOUSE SO I CAN HAVE GOOD INTERNET. THAT MEANS ALL THE HOUSES ON MY ROAD WILL HAVE ACCESS TO COMCAST AND WILL NOT NEED SERVICE FROM AT&T. So unless someone gets back to me before i write the check COMCAST WINS!!!

Re: Fiber Internet

You keep saying to go online and look at coverage map. However the coverage map is TERRIBLE! Would you please not give the political bull crap answer and let us know how we can find out when fiber will be in the area. I was promised when I transferred to ATT from Cox that fiber would be here soon. Here we are approx one year later and we still do not have fiber!!! I have called several times and this is my last effort before I go back to Cox and tell ATT where they can go!!!

AT@T installed new fiber boxes next to my garage and the line runs right in front of my home and a mile down the road. Line has been up and running since July, 2018. We can’t seem to get AT@T to add our address to the line. They claim the line is not for our subdivision. There is only one subdivision with one gate. Their boxes are setting on our subdivision common property. Who is it for if not for the homeowners? How do we get our addresses added to the system?
