Check for an email from att about setting it up. You may have to wait until a certain time and date to activate the gateway.
Do you have an ONT to connect the gateway to? Ethernet cable from the ont to the red port on the back of the gateway. Plug in the gateway and see if it powers up and the app finds it.

@hpegrl are you in an Apt with an existing ONT (little white box on the wall) or a new AT&T branded Fiber wall plate?
