Internet installation but missing fiber cable from ATT box in the street to garage
Will I need to get another team of installers besides the one I entered on the website if I have a new house that needs ATT run the cable from the street to the garage or anyone might do this?
I moved to a brand new community owned by only ATT so I cant get cable or other vendor except for ATT. There is an ATT box in the street but was told they need to run the cables from the street to the garage. Is this part of the install or do I need to pay extra? The few techs that did my neighbors were clueless and probably just off high school. Also they left the ONT box and the gateway both in the garage and were lazy to fish the cable to the closet. Perhaps they do not know you can actually run cables through the wall?
How do you go about requesting capable techs or senior teams to address installation issues? Thanks!

This is part of your Fiber Install order the tech should run your drop from the box near the curb and a bury request will be scheduled for a later date.
That was likely contractors hired by the builder. The bad news is the newest install for Fiber does not have a separate ONT in the Garage.
They want to run Fiber to where the AT&T Gateway will be installed. It provides ONT functions, Modem / Gateway functions and 4 port Ethernet switch and Wi-Fi.
So do you have a network closet / structured networking panel?

Yes. Actually the builder does have sundrop in the closet with the correct cables. However, the ATT techs did not want to use those cables and left the gateway in the garage?
Do I have to get another level of service from ATT or same installer should be able to do this? Thanks!

What AT&T Gateway did the AT&T Tech install in your garage?
Also could you clarify exactly what cables your builder had pre-installed from the Garage to your Closet?
Trying to figure out why tech would not use existing cable especially if it was Single Mode Fiber. Did the tech tell you why they did not want to use the existing wiring?

I have Cat5 cables running from the garage to the closet that I paid for and confirmed with the builder. For some reason they do not want to use them or not familiar with the set up?
However, the builder did not set up the cable from the ATT street box to the garage. They said that's for ATT to do? I'm not sure what cables usually run from the street to the garage.
Now they are saying they ran out of ports and no longer available until December?
My only question is whether ATT is responsible to run the cable from the street to the garage and then connect to the closet or do I need to get an electrician to do this? Thanks

ATT runs the fiber from an optisheath tap through the inground box in your yard to your home. The fiber enters the home and the gateway is installed by the tech. It is up to you and the tech to discuss where you want the gateway. Network closet, in an office etc. The tech can advise you what can and cannot be done. Do you have a conduit that runs to your network closet that the tech can run the fiber through? Do you have networking cables to rooms throughout the house running to the network closet or do all those cables end/meet in the garage?
