Haven’t had internet since moving into a new place

Last ditch effort at this point, we have been waiting for internet In our new townhome for two weeks now. I get being on back order for parts but you say it’ll take another two weeks? Any advice how to get taken seriously, seems like no one is ever coming to fix it, I don’t have service in the area either to add salt to the wound. I make a portion of my money off the internet and have lost that extra revenue. I don't even wanna spend time in my brand new townhome because I wanna go somewhere I can work at. Ideas?

Is it available in your area?

Yes it has been for a while now, Louisville, KY. The lines are in the ground and everything were just waiting for people to hook them all up. It’s a new construction site. But there’s people that are apart of my complex that do have internet while I do not.

Does your address show service available? Not other addresses.

It shows my address as serviceable, apparently I’m waiting for a box to be installed on the outside of the complex and they’re waiting for that? I don’t understand it because the complex on the other side of the lot has a box from att but no one lives there yet. So why am I not getting service but the empty building is.

We're here to help clarify why you may not be ready for service yet, GEEESQUIGGLE.

AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.

@ATTHelp  that means nothing to me though, so the building has internet but nobody lives there? The company has no idea what’s happening none of my contacts even knew there was a box over there.

Your problem is that you're looking at this and trying to apply logic.  It sounds like you've already been told it's some sort of supply chain issue.  Or maybe they don't have enough installers in your area.  Both are huge problems for AT&T (and of course many other companies) right now.

Sounds like maybe they had a schedule to do your complex in a certain order and hit one of these roadblocks by the time they got to you.  In situations like that I don't suspect AT&T cares if a building is inhabited or not, they're just buildings to them.

The bad part in all of this is you'll never get to anyone who will know what's going on.  The people at that level never interface with the public or any front line AT&T people.

Do you have any other options for Internet there?  Most ISP's don't have contracts so maybe your best bet is to sign up with another service and once AT&T gets its act together, order  fiber, wait for it to be working and then cancel the other guys.

Thats exactly what I did, but no plan on going with att since they literally don’t care. Just going with a local provider that can actually get the work done.
