Do installers run ground rods for residential internet?

Once you have the information together, call 1-800-288-2020 and ask to file a new claim.
If an AT&T representative has given you a submitted claim number and you haven't heard anything in 2 business days, or you've already filed a claim and want to follow up, you can go to www.mysedgwick.com and register as a new user using your submitted claim number. You can frequent the site for claim updates and also contact your Sedgwick adjuster.

If the incoming fiber optic line has shielding or any metallic conductors, those must be bonded to the ground rod for the power company's electric service. Newer homes typically have a grounding bar by the electric meter for ISPs and Telco use. Older homes that do not have a ground rod might use the metallic water service line instead. This is why ISPs try to install their outdoor NIDs next to the power company's service meter.
Under no circumstances should a separate ground rod be used unless it it correctly bonded to the main building ground. A separate (AKA Isolated) ground rod system greatly increases the danger of electrical shock, equipment damage from circulating current/voltages, and increases the risk of damage from lightning strikes. Contact a licensed electrician to do this according to code, don't depend on an ISP's installer to do it right or attempt doing it yourself.
