Fiber Install

AT&T wants to drill holes into the house before calling 811 to set up a visit to mark driveway for utilities or schedule Bore contractors to come and pass the line under it.

Makes no sense to me.

811 is called before digging and local contractor is scheduled to bury line, normally both is done after the installation. The fiber is placed on top of ground till buried which can take weeks and in northern states after ground is frozen could be months during winter installs.

For installation to occur requires drilling holes, most often the point of entry is near where power enters the residence.

edit… this has been the process during copper installations for decades, moving transport material from copper to fiber does not change the process.

Drop the line over the driveway before digging and burring with cars driving in and out?
