Fiber install question

I just signed up for fiber which is new to my neighborhood with an install date next week. I currently have an old telephone box on the side of the house that has a cat5e run to my network closet. I understand that there has to be an ONT where the fiber changes to an Ethernet cable, which then runs to the gateway.

Does the ont go on the outside or inside of the house? Does it need power and a ups? If inside, the other side of the wall where the phone box is is my formal dining room, and is not a good place for any equipment. Since they’re running fiber up to the house anyxenderway, can I have them run it to the other side of the house which is the garage? The ont and ups could then go in the garage and I can then run a cat6 cable from the garage up to the network closet for the gateway.omegle
