Fiber down after 5 day

I had fiber installed 5 days ago. Today it went out in the middle of a very important meeting. (working from home) They've said it will be 7 days before a tech can come. Entirely unacceptable. Seems to be the modem (Gateway?). Does anyone know of any work arounds? I sorely regret my decision to switch to AT&T.

Switching to ATT Fiber implies you had previous working service from a different ISP…

As has been stated often since Covid forced many WFH and virtual schooling… if our income is dependent on the internet consider yourself a small business that needs to have a redundant system in place.

This backup could be cable provider, cellular hotspot or satellite service. Residential internet is entertainment not business, repair appointments can be several days to schedule due to limited manpower with ongoing installs/ repairs being future dates.

Not knowing what equipment you have, or how installed… the most common fiber repair is cut / damaged wiring. If lying on ground waiting to be buried may have been damaged by human or animal(s). If this is the issue the tech will need to install another fiber line… just my thoughts
