Fiber and cat 5 wired house
My fiber is in a closet in my basement. So when using the ATT combo BG210 my wireless is weak. I want to move my unit to the middle floor. Can i plug the Ethernet into my switch in the cat 5 wire cabinet and move my router to another outlet in the home?

No, the ethernet would be from the ONT to the gateway as a direct connection.... you would need another ethernet cable from the gateway location back to the closet to feed the switch.
Or purchase wireless extender or mesh system to improve the wifi service within the home leaving the gateway at the current location.
