I am in a ZIP code in Gainesville that does NOT have AT&T fiber optic, but does have COX Cable, whom I dislike. I still have DSL, which doubles or triples my cost because a physical phone line is needed to supply DSL to my Home Internet. THAT is why I literally have contacted AT&T through various methods to keep the contact going, but yet this week another neighbor "gave up" and joined the evil COX Cable. It's all about money and AT&T does NOT care about the loyal customers, as they refuse to give us any break on the phone or internet cost, even as the service is unsatisfactory. Does the DSL work? Yes. Does it work well? Yes. Is it horrendously expensive? Yes. Do I have a load of other (cellular) products with AT&T and have for several decades? Yes

Do you have a LEGACY DSL account? This has a 150G data cap with overage charges of $10/50G up to $200 per month in overages allowed.

If you have a Uverse platform internet of ADSL2+ speeds up to 18 or VDSL with speeds from 25 to 100, you would have a data cap if 1T… no home phone would be required but may receive some discounts for bundling but not as much as the phone is costing.

If have the LEGACY DSL check to see if could switch to ATT AIR as a FWA product, about $55 per month with autopay.
TMobile and Verizon also offer 5G FWA products. All three would offer faster speeds at lower coast AND no home phone requirements.

StarLink as satellite internet and ALWAYS ON Fixed Wireless Internet are other possible options.
