Disrespectful Technician

How would you feel if an AT&T technician came to your house to install new service and stood on the arm of an upholstered antique chair in your living room because he was too lazy to go to his truck and get his ladder.  This happened in Tulsa OK last month and nobody in the President's office will even respond.

Were you home when this happened?

Yes I was and I saw him do it.  Based on how the furniture was skewed and left on my back porch, I believe he also used my patio furnitureas a ladder to staple the cable under the eaves.

I always watch and pay attention when we have someone come over to install or repair a service. If I don't like what he's doing, I mention it. Besides, some of these installers are sub-contractors so they are not even AT&T employees.

We assume you filed a complaint with the BBB to get to AT&T Corporate. However, this is not really the type of complaint that a Senior Manager in the Office of the President will call a customer about. There is nothing for them to fix for you.

I filled out some kind of service form and the department manager came to my house and I listed about 10 things this guy did.  Manager apologized and I took it up to Area Manager.  He apologized but didn't seem overly concerned.  Wanted to go to the Director but he was too important to talk to me.  This guy is covered by the union and ge could literally crap in the middle of my living room carpet and they would not take any significant action.  That is when I sent a certified letter to President's office.  They don't care how the customer is treated, they just want the money.

I will makw every effort to let future customers know their worth to AT&T and how they allow their technician to treat customers.

I don't remember exactly what verbage I used but how would I know if I didn't see it live or on video?  The Manager and Area Manager definitely knew it but Corp has tied thrir hands so they can'r do anything meaningful.  Would you go to somebody's home and walk on their furnituire?  Is that a safety vioaltion?  Are they taught not to get the step ladder off their truck if it is inconvenient?  There is a lot more about thid guys attitude that I haven't disclosed here but did in my letter.

Then you've done all that you can. You got an apology from his Manager and Area Manager so we don't know what else you expect. Yes, he should've been more careful and respectful of your house but there are always going to be bad service technicians whether they work directly for AT&T, a different carrier, or a sub-contractor.

We don't know how you would've seen it "live or on video". That still doesn't answer the question were you at home watching this and why didn't you say anything.

Thank you for your comments.  You keep driving home the same point as though you had some type of affiliation with AT&T or one of their contractors.  If you are trying to put the blame on me for not grabbing a shotgun and escorting him off my premisis, you just don't see the point.  When did you last go to somebody's home and walk on their upholstered furniture?  Were you born in the woods like this guy appears to have been or do you have some manners?  Don't try to switch the fault to me.  Hopefully your next response will get you another one of these stupid play badges.  I know there will always be bad service technicians and I have taken on the responsibility to warn people thart AT&T has this one and they don't care about his actions.

I’m still not understanding how you saw him do it and you didn’t say anything.
