Normally this isn't an issue but some IoT devices don't care for the combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz setup in AT&T Gateways.
So you've got two options if your 2.4GHz devices are unhappy with the default setting.
Go into the BGW's interface by entering 192.168.1.254 into your browser's Address bar. At some point you'll be asked to enter the Access Code, a long string of characters found on a sticker on the BGW.
Then either enable the 2.4GHz Guest network, or, go into the Advanced Options under Wifi and modify the name of the 5GHz network (I usually just suggest appending a -5 onto the end of the existing name). Ignore the warning about the end of civilization that the gateway will display and scroll down and click the Save button.
