Can AT&T place wires on my property without permission?
I just got home and saw orange lines in my backyard. We talked to a person in a truck who said he had drawn them for AT&T fiber optics to be placed on Monday. We don't use AT&T anymore. We have numerous other wires in the backyard for outdoor lights that are not marked. We don't want the optics to be placed. How do we prevent this?

Check your property plat and you should see a utility easement across your backyard. It is shared bu all utilities. Gas, Electric, Copper, Sewer Waste / Water.
You don't get to pick and chose. Actually having fiber service available does increase the value of your property even if you don't use it today.

Thank you Dave for your response. How do we prevent outdoor lighting wires from being damaged in this process?

By not having them in the utility right of way. The marking service marked all the utility lines that were tonable with their equipment.
It is like customers that build fences or have plantings in the Utility easement. You do so at your own risk. Sorry.
