AT&T just ran fiber through our older neighborhood, what should I expect as far as installation?
House was built in the 70's, there was a POTS line connected at one point in time however I have no idea if it's good as the original 'conduit' from the service boxes (cable and phone) was thin wall PVC and has collapsed long ago. Side of the house where the AT&T junction is located is all concrete so no way to bury a cable.
Was hoping to get an idea of what to expect as far as installation goes. Looking at 'Internet 300' if that matters. Are they likely to just run a new cable along the existing coax and reuse the ancient AT&T box on the house?
I found the 'Inside Wiring Service Guide' https://cpr.att.com/pdf/service_publications/ASE_Inside_Wiring_Service_Guide_Attachment.pdf
I'm not sure that the 'Inside Wiring Service Guide' is applicable for 'Internet Installation'.
I know, lots of questions.. thanks for any tips or info!

Fiber terminals on poles (aerial)?
If yes, the expectation is the fiber drop to the house would be overhead to side of home.
If no, have fiber buried with no poles using pedestal or handhold, expect fiber drop to be placed on the ground with burial at future unknown date.
From the point of entry will need fiber installed to gateway location. The tech doing the install can discuss the where and how part of the installation. Allow up to (4) hours from time of arrival, most are closer to 3 hours.

All underground, and the AT&T 'vault' is at the edge of our property. From there to the house is concrete slab, without much opportunity to go overhead, which is where my concerns lie.
Pretty sure I'd the be the first hooked up so I might expect some gotchas from that as well.
Thanks for the info!

All concrete, no grass at all, even going around the house?
While contractors can bore under concrete there needs to be a point that comes out of the ground.
Example would be alongside driveway, behind the garage, thru backyard to a point of entry that can enter home with grass, flower bed, gravel surface at POE.

The AT&T underground service box is at the corner of my driveway. Approximately 30' of concrete to the house.
Cable installer sort of 'weaved' their coax in and out of the fence between my driveway and the neighbors until it got to the back yard where they dug up some dirt at the end of the concrete walkway and buried the coax. Pretty shoddy looking really, but it was the best I could get them to do.

And it will likely be the same path for the fiber... fence edge, backyard to side of home.
Fiber service does not require grounding, thus can enter home at a different point than the copper which should be grounded to electric ground of home.

Thanks, that gives me a rough idea of what to expect.

Just to follow up on this, installer came Saturday morning.. and turned out his supervisor wouldn't let him install it without running it underground.
So now there's a request somewhere in the system to send out a crew to run conduit under my concrete (and perhaps other folks, there are about 8 houses here that can't be hooked up as it stands).

Phew, I don't feel so bad for you now.
They're going to deliver alright, we just don't what. There are multiple "disconnected" AT&T depts involved plus possible outside contractors.
Hey, they can't all be 💩(Edited per community guidelines) shows, there have to be a lot of success stories that we never get to hear about in these forums. 🤞🤞
