AT&T Just Laid Fiber in on my Street Today

I've been waiting about 10 years for fiber to come here and now it finally is. Most of my neighborhood has had fiber except the block on my street, even down the street has it. It just had been fiber to the node at my address (around 25mbps). How long has it taken for you all to get the fiber installation notice after they laid it out? I already had signed up for the notice to my email so I'm going to have it instead ASAP because Comcast for me is expensive as (Edited per community guidelines).

They laid fiber in my neighborhood 2 years ago. Still isn’t available for me. That fiber may be a backbone for government service or a call tower. Etc

Depends on the size of the build out and where you street is within the project (beginning, middle or near end).

Is the fiber on a pole or being buried?

If buried is only orange conduit deployed, many steps to go from orange conduit to order service.

If aerial has the fiber terminals been installed?

Same question for buried service, needs terminals.

If this is for residential service for your street, address expect 2 to 9 months.... thus while may be able to order before year end, the more likely may be first half of 2022.

The smaller the deployment and being aerial will be quicker time frame. Larger number of addresses with underground service will be longer.

Well for the time being it is only 2 blocks on my street which is around 12 homes. Both sides of the street have it outside of our 2 blocks. The street that intersects our block all have it though. And they were putting the lines on the poles. Nothing underground that I have seen yet. They actually said 3-4 weeks after I posted this so hopefully that’s true.

If a small number of addresses with aerial, the 2 month time frame may be more exact.

Need to have terminal placed, generally every other pole.

Tested and then addresses turned green.

Here to help with your fiber inquiry, @mvonwismar

If people in your neighborhood have fiber, but you do not, we recommend filling our an address research form. Our other support team will get your request and perform all the necessary steps to see what needs to be done to get you fiber.

We also see that you said they notified you that it would be 3-4 weeks. If after that time period has passed and still no fiber for your residence, reach back out to us! Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you for choosing AT&T Community Forums!
