Another Internet dropping problem

After Harvey, they upgraded us for free from reg Dsl to Fiber. It used the infamous Pace 5268AC modem inside with a home run to the NID box in the garage. It drops the internet at least twice a day. They have changed the modem three times and two different techs have come out. tried both home run ethernet cables, the IPv6 is disabled by default and I even tried a UPS on the NID in the garage. sometimes you can software reset, sometimes you can button reset on the modem, sometimes unplugging the modem works and sometimes you have to go unplug the NID. although the last hasn't happened yet with it plugged into the UPS.

Any, OTHER ideas?

Hi @BrianL60,

I am sorry about the inconsistent internet service, but I will be glad to help. Are you connected wired or wireless? If wireless, try testing hard wired. When you see the services go down, what are the lights on your gateway doing? The main lights that need to stay on are the broadband, service, and power lights. If those lights are not on, then you will have no service. You can also check the ONT to see if you see any red lights, but it sounds like that problem is fixed with the UPS.

Finally, when you lose service, try accessing the gateway at http://192.168.1.254. If you cannot access it, there may be something flooding our gateway. You should always be able to access that site, even offline. You will want to start removing devices off the gateway to identify which device is causing issues or you can try putting a router behind our gateway that may be able to handle the device causing this issue. Hope this helps.
