1) The GT-AXE16000 has a 2.5G WAN port. That 2.5 Gbps WAN port may or may not actually sync up with the Gateway's 5 Gbps port. You may need 5 Gbps Ethernet switch to get the two to connect at 2.5 Gbps. That means that your router will only be getting 2.5 Gbps of your 5 Gbps service.
2) It will be up to the AXE16000 if it can keep up with 2.5 Gbps traffic. You'll never know until you try.

We're here to help with your internet speeds, @Crusher34884!
Thank you for the helpful informaiton, @JefferMC!
Just as our ACE mentioned, if the WAN port is only 2.5 gbs, you won't get the full 5 gb speeds. You'll want to ensure you enable IP pass-through as well. If you provide the model of gateway you have from us, we'd be more than happy to provide those steps for you.
We look forward to hearing back from you!

Right but i'm using my 10 gig port as my WAN port. Not the 2.5 gig port. BGW320-505 and i've already gone ahead and enabled ip passthrough

@Crusher34884 are you saying you were able to make one of the two 10 gbps ports your primary WAN port? Cool.
What speeds were you able to get?
Wi-fi or Ethernet or on-router test?
If Ethernet, on the other 10 Gbps port? You have a suitable NIC?
If wi-fi, have you gotten 5 gbps on that device somewhere else?

@JefferMC Yes, I made one of my 10 gig ports into a WAN port and the thing is it worked, But then for some reason my speed started dropping and now even when i test the speed from the att app i only get 2.5 gigs down and 1 gig up. and thats the same speed i get on my asus router now.

I'm unclear about the results from the at&t app test. It normally will show two results: one on the gateway itself and another for your device... which are you taking about?
