Wifi Constantly Disconnecting

I am running Fiber from the street into my home with a coaxial converter in my garage which then runs upstairs to our laundry room which has a plastic panel where the modem sits.

I have an AT&T issued Arris BGW210-700 running software version 3.20.5.

It seems at about once I day I have to restart the internet from the SmartHomeManager app. I have some devices connected through hardwire connection that do not get any service disruptions and the speed and reliability is good. Wi-Fi seems to be a different story. Laptop, phones, smart TVs and other devices cannot stay connected and operate at very low speeds. I have to restart the wifi just about once a day to solve the connection issues. I typically have less than 10 devices connected at any time to the wireless network.

It seems to be an issue isolated to the wifi. Does this mean it's specific to the hardware (i.e. Modem/router) that AT&T provides? Do others experience this as well?

Hi Snessl94, we can help you improve your Wi-Fi.

Check your network Wi-Fi coverage with the Smart Home Manager app:

  1. Open the Smart Home Manager app on your mobile device
  2. Select the For You tab
  3. Look for the Easily Find Weak Wi-Fi in your location and select Get Started
  4. Follow the prompts to check out your home network Wi-Fi coverage

You can also run diagnostics on your service with the Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool. You can even schedule a service call directly from the tool, if necessary.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
