VPN Connection Error

I occasionally work from home by connecting to my work computer by VPN. I have issues connecting to my VPN and when I am able to connect into the VPN, I work for the about 45 minutes and my connection drops when I am hardwire and by wifi.

The message I receive is: ERROR: "The L2TP-VPN server did not respond. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your Administrator"

I also get the message: "You were disconnected because the PPP server is not responding. Try reconnecting"

I have called your support team and multiple techs have came out to check out the service and they don't find anything wrong. Your connect tech is no longer available. Here is the catch, I use my neighbor's SPECTRUM internet by wifi which is dividing us by a wall and I do not have any problems connecting, working, nor dropping the VPN connection. AT&T told me at one point that the solution is that I should switch to another internet. Your technician says it's my work's VPN, my work technician says it's ATT, at the end of the day I should not be having this issue with your ATT server. Please, I need to someone to resolve this issue.

What VPN are you using and do you have the latest version loaded on your work computer?

Get your IT support team to check and update your VPN if needed. It is also strange that it fails after about 1 hour of active use. Base function is there and working to access your work network without issue other then possibly timing out.

Are you sure that it is not timing out do you have any error or codes displayed in the VPN logs?

Not all traffic is sent through to your work network and most VPNs have a timeout setting for inactivity. Your company pays for the VPN by connection units so most have a short timeout for inactivity.
