Very Slow YouTube Playback on GigaPower
I live in Nashville, TN and have had AT&T GigaPower internet since February of this year. I've not had any issues at all until the past week or two. I get full speeds on my speed tests and all sites load without any issue except YouTube video playback. I usually like to watch videos in 1080P or higher and never had any issues before. Now over the past couple of weeks according to the YouTube video stats, I am only getting anywhere from 0.5 to 2.5 Mbit/sec on YouTube videos which makes the video studder/buffer terribly and the quality is horrible. This is on all of my devices (most devices I use are hard-wired like Apple TVs, iMac, Dell laptop). If I connect my computer to my work VPN through my GigaPower connection, YouTube videos play just fine.
I called AT&T about it and they sent a tech out and every thing checked out just fine. They said there are no issues with my connection at all and AT&T doesn't have any reported issues with their servers/nodes. We tried all kinds of things but I don't think there is an issue locally at my house with my connection. I think there is an issue with how AT&T is handling the traffic from YouTube. I'm quite frustrated at this point because AT&T claims nothing is wrong.
Any ideas on what else can be done? Can this be investigated more?
