Upgrade to Fiber Optic

We were notified in November that fiber optic was available in our neighborhood, no additional cost and no extension of agreement.  We upgraded 4 days into my cellular monthly service I received notice our data plan was almost depleted.  The wifi was continually disconnecting from our cell phones.  They came out and replaced the modem.  It continued to be a problem but I just dealt with it.   Our original agreement expired with Direct TV and ATT so I called up to cancel the service.  They gave me a discount on the Direct TV and told me I was under contract on the wifi until November, so they lied to me and extended our agreement.  So I place a service call the tech cleaned the fiber optic connection and gave me his cell number if we had any problem.  The problem continued, I tried to contact I think he responded once and I have not been able to reach him since.  I contacted his supervisor they sent out another tech and replaced the modem again.  It didn't resolve it so we continued to communicate to try and resolve the issue.  He recommended we purchase wifi extenders,I didn't need them before the upgrade or with any other provider, so that was not an option.  I contacted the supervisor last Friday and he thought the wifi extender resolved the issue.  I explained I need him to do whatever needs to be done either to resolve the issue or allow me to cancel without penalty.  I will pursue that on Monday.

 

In addition to this even after the discount on the Direct TV my monthly billing increased so I decided to cancel.  A couple of days after contacting them a representative called and offered an additional discount, both of the discounts were without any agreement, we can cancel anytime.  Yesterday I received an email detailing the pricing and it stated we are on a 24 month agreement.

 

I have dealt with ATT for years back to BellSouth.  The customer service has always bee outstanding.  It now appears they have shifted all customer service to Direct TV offshore, it is horrific and they have have lowered themselves to deception.
