Sudden drastic drop in upload speed in the past 24 hours (2mbps total upload via ethernet)
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has ever run into this at some point. Over the past 6 months I have had a great experience with my fiber internet. My ethernet tests on
www.speedtest.net are almost always 850-930/945mbps. Wifi devices via 5ghz are about 500-600/400-500 almost anywhere in my house.
A little after midnight on 3/21 I decided to run a speed test because I hadn't in a while..it came back normal just like it always does. About 12 hours later I ran another one for a reason I can't remember and suddenly I'm getting speeds you see in my screenshot.
I have tested multiple wifi devices and multiple ethernet devices across various ports AND different cat6 cables. For whatever reason I can only top out at about 20mbps upload through wifi. Ethernet I am getting about 700ish down but only 2mbps UP. I power cycled a few times and ran the diags and tests within the modem itself via the IP login. The upstream/downstream report as normal speed. The ATT speed test app tells me the same thing. But whatever it comes to my devices the speed throughput just isn't there. I checked the fiber line going from my ONT to my gateway and saw no damage.
I knew I was going to have a hard time with chat tech support as they would just keep telling me the difference between 2.4ghz and 5ghz and then tell me the speed to the gateway is fine. I don't disagree with that but something has either updated in the modem or there's sudden line degradation, but I can't think of anything else to try.
I ended up having them send me a modem that's supposed to arrive here Friday. I am hoping that it's just the modem that failed but if it isn't I am going to have to get a tech out here.
I saw one other forum post like mine from a couple years ago that ended with him needing to escalate to a network admin and get a card changed at the central office itself. Is that the problem here? Unlikely..but it is similar.
thank you for your time

Just replied to another post that noted the same glitch - which we are ALSO experiencing. Plan is 300 / 300 - last test (admittedly to a Note 9) came in at 65 / 5.1 (!). Initial results for the Note 9 scored 281 / 229 - considerably below either desktop, but still much better than 65 / 5.1.
