Setting up UDMP with IP Passthrough - running into issues.

I have a UDMP (Unifi Dream Machine Pro), and I set it up with the AT&T Fiber Modem in passthrough mode. I got it setup - and disabled all the packet and advanced firewall properties.

I got internet to to the device (but that actually worked before I enabled passthrough). Once I got everything setup - I restarted the both devices. Internet was working so I assumed everything good.

However, When I look in my UDMP page - it says my WAN IP is a local IP in the subnet of the AT&T mode (179.16.x.x - is what I changed it to so that it didn't conflict with my UDMP 192.168.x.x). Then I realize that none of my port forwarding rules are working correctly.

Have I missed something? Shouldn't my WAN IP be my public address? Why is my port forwarding not working at all?

Yes, your UDMP should have the same public IP on its WAN as the Gateway does.  This says IP Passthrough hasn't worked yet.  Try turning off the UDMP for 5 minutes then bringing it back up.  If it doesn't work once, try again.  If, after trying it twice, it doesn't have the public IP, post back here.

I realized that I had it set to the MAC Address of a different port on my UDMP. I have got it working now. Thank you.

However, now I can't disable the built-in AT&T modem/router wifi? The dropdown box to turn it off won't allow me to select it. It automatically leaves it on. Any idea how to fix that?

Odd.  How, specifically (page, section, label) are you trying to turn Wi-Fi off?  For example, I would have recommended:

Home Network > WiFi > Advanced Options > 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Configuration > Wi-Fi Operation : Off

and

Home Network > WiFi > Advanced Options > 5 GHz Wi-Fi Configuration > Wi-Fi Operation : Off

What model gateway? @JefferMC If @lecraeman has a bgw320, is there a different method for turning off the wifi in it? I read quite some time ago you had to disconnect from fiber to access the advanced wifi option. That may not apply anymore.

Could be... there are similar strange things about the BGW320's Wireless.

Sorry about not responding sooner fellas (@JefferMC @browndk26 ). I’m at work and won’t be able to check this for a few more hours.

I do indeed have a BGW320 (that’s what it says on the front).

As soon as I get home I’ll post an update. I appreciate the help!

Don't forget the always popular "factory reset" fix for the BGW320 (hold red reset button down for >15 secs).

Unfortunately it will wipe out all of your work customizing the settings in the BGW but it sure seems to fix a lot of oddball issues.

@JefferMC You were correct.

The way the "Advanced Options" item is styled I assumed it was a title 🤦

Maybe if I had slowed down I could have read the sentence right above it that says it's a link. Sorry about that. Thank you again for your help!
