Port Forwarding Not Working On AT&T Fiber Optic Modem
I have forwarded the ports under Nat/Gaming, I made sure that the port and the setting for tcp or udp were correct according to what the app said to set the port as. I went into packets and created custom rules to allow the ports to receive the packets through the firewall when I am connecting from the internet rather than LAN. No matter what I do, my apps that connect back to cameras and apps for remote access to desktop alway say "cannot connect to 172....." They, of course, work perfectly when within the Lan because port forwarding is not relevant. Should I just buy another modem with upnp and connect it to the ATT modem and set the ATT modem in passthrough? Someone please help. thank you.

Hi @ziggy6894!
Thank you for reaching out to us here, we'd love to help you!
To answer you question, getting a modem with upnp would help with IP Passthrough.
Configuring IP Passthrough will help you get your desired connection to third party equipment for networking. You can view this great article to get details on how to Configuring IP Passthrough and DMZplus.
We also suggest that view this great article to get details on how to Setup Static IP with your service especially for your desktop and gaming device.
