PACE 11.1.0.531418 DMZ Issue

I put my router behind the PACE gateway and set the router as DMZ.  The latest firmware is crapping out my fiber connection where I'm only able to get 50mbps down and 1-200 up.   I thought it was my router crapping out, but apparently when I connect any other device directly to the gateway, I'm able to pull 940mbps up and down.  I swapped an older router and placed that device in the DMZ And it starts acting up and the previous router started working normally.

Can someone look into this?

Bought a new Netgear Orbi AC3000 to supply good wifi to a few deadspots (PACE 11.1.0.531418, Uverse 1000G).  I opened DMZ for it, but had to set the Orbi router as an access point in order for laptops to be able to access the wired NAS.  I turned off 2.4 and 5 ghz radios on the Pace, but, interestingly,  still had to plug in the AT&T-supplied AP to the RG in order for my wireless TV set top boxes to work.  Fingers crossed, but so far it is good:  565 down, 401 up, no hiccups.  My only question is why does my Samsung phone keep popping up a Security & Privacy warning when running on the new wifi?  It is protected with a 10 character password (WPA2 PSK).

Opening up DMZ and then putting the router in Access Point mode is not something you'd want to do.  You could put the Orbi in Access Point mode without setting up DMZplus.  With DMZplus to an Access Point, you have no firewall between your Orbi and devices connected to it and the Internet. Something isn't quite right here.

Yes, you must use the AT&T Supplied WAP for your Wireless IPTV receivers; you cannot use your own wireless equipment for that.

I don't know.  Maybe Samsung notices the lack of a fiewall?  The only popup I get is the solicitation to install the stupid "Security & Privacy" App and I tell them no, no, no.

I called the support number and actually had a pleasant conversation.  I asked for a technician appointment, but the support representative wanted to send a new modem.  I said that wouldn't work as I would just receive another 5268, but she insisted that if she enters the order manually, I will get an NVG599.

I asked about the BGW210 but was told that it is having issues (which I've read about here), so they couldn't send that one.

I won't be surprised if I get another NVG599, but we'll see how it goes.

Ask for a technician visit, which is a $99 charge, and try to contact them before the visit and request a BGW210.

This is not true. I do not think anyone in this feed has paid $99.00 for a Tech to come out and bring a new RG, be it PACE or BGW210. I can attest to the BGW210 fixing the DMZ+ issue. I also requested a Tech come out, and I requested that they call before coming to verify that they indeed had a BGW210 (or Non-PACE RG). I paid not a penny.

This method works. If you want to do something else, go right ahead.  Good Luck.

It seems that AT&T customer service is lagging, but I state the obvious. Yes, the BGW210 running v.1.7.17 does have an issue but as I noted in a previous post, if you are having the DMZ+ issue with the PACE you will not have a problem with the BGW210 v.1.7.17 reboot issue. It only reboots if you use the BGW210 as a standalone RG/ Router/WiFi. In addition, AT&T has recently pushed out a new FW rev V.1.8.18 that seems to have fixed the Standalone reboot issue (if there is something else with the v.1.8.18 FW, I have not experienced it or heard of it) I am using the BGW210 in Passthrough mode (equivalent to the PACE DMZ+) and running v.1.8.18 and I have not had ANY issues at all, in addition I did not have ANY issues with the previous v.1.7.17 either. So, you will be safe getting the BGW210 (with either v.1.7.17 or v.1.8.18 FW) IF and only IF you are planning to use the BGW210 RG in Passthrough Configuration with a "third party" Router behind it. Good Luck.

Approaching 400 replies with 30k views and the CSRs and prem techs are still clueless about it.

A communications company that can't communicate among themselves. Highly ironic.

Or... this is a deliberate cover up of a truly embarrassing screw up.

Funny that they said that the BGW210 was having issues. I called them and they agreed to send me a BGW210 almost immediately. (This is after they already sent me a Pace router as a replacement again). We'll see if they actually send me the right thing this time.

@Cruc1alTauntIf you don't mind, please confirm you indeed received the correct device. I'm one of many that tried 3 times to get one delivered, unsuccessfully i might add.

@gr8sho Well, it was too good to be true I guess.  I called them again because my order showed as over a week out for delivery.  They transferred me to their escalations department who looked at the order, said that the BGW210 is not available for my account, and then said that they would send me the NVG599.  That is scheduled for Monday so we'll see if they actually deliver.

@gr8sho - As i noted here a couple of weeks ago, I did receive a replacement 5268 loaded with 10.7 firmware that did, has, and continues to work Just Fine. During my call to support (during which I was escalated to a manager who admitted that ATT has a problem with the 11.1 firmware), I pushed for a 210 device. They insisted that the 5268 with 10.7 would do the trick. While I was openly skeptical, the results speak for themselves - I am getting over 900 mbps up and down and have for weeks.
