The Nest uses the 2.4GHz band so you may have to reset the Nest and let if find your network. It's supposed to be able to use the 5GHz band as well but our Nest, until we removed it, would only connect to 2.4GHz. But once connected, it was solid.

Well that (Edited per community guidelines). Maybe you need to give the 2.4GHz band a different SSID than the 5GHz band. I know with the AT&T gateway that sometimes it's necessary if there are connection problems.

As @ottopylot suggested, you can change the SSID of the 2.4GHz to be different from the 5.0GHZ to help resolve this issue.
