Mesh wifi

I am trying to find out how many airties my BGW210-700 will support. I have looked into a 3rd party router, however I wish to keep a mesh wifi system. The bandwidth in my home is becoming crowded. Is there any way to allocate devices to different band widths, or to add airties to my existing system. What is the best route to optimize my speed in my home?

Here is the information we can find on this @Emansfield96. According to this article, we recommend no more than 3 extenders per household.

  • Have you used the Smart Home Manager app before? Once downloaded you could scan for wireless channels, it could be interference slowing your speeds down.
    • The option to Scan for Better Wi-Fi is right on the main page.
    • You can also use this app to create a secondary Network that you can assign devices to which will still allow the mesh system to be used. Under the "My Wi-Fi" option at the top, you can create a guest network and password.
    • You can use it to easily set priority to certain devices if you wish to as well. This is done by going under Network > Connected devices > Clicking on the device > Prioritize. This may help with what you are needing as well.
  • What is your modem environment like? If there is a lot of other electronics around your modem is could be causing a slowdown.
  • What speeds are you getting through AT&T currently with your plan? As I am sure you know the more devices you are using the less speed they will get.
  • The router you have uses band steering which means it will automatically route devices to the best bandwidth to minimize congestion. You could cancel the band steering so you can decide which devices are on which bandwidth, but the mesh system will not work if you do that, so it isn't the best option.

We will do our best to keep working with you @Emansfield96.
