Mac mini M1 with 10Gb ethernet to Pace 5268AC With AT&T Fiber

Anyone got this working.  What are your settings.  Wireless works.  Ethernet drops 75% of its packets.

Let's see if we can get your Mac working with ethernet, @SunPropHead

If you haven't already, we recommend troubleshooting your gateway using our Smart Home Manager app. Just scroll down to where it says Smart Home Manager features, for instructions! We also recommend checking the ethernet cable to make sure it is in good condition, as well as testing a different cable if possible.

If it works wirelessly but not through ethernet, it may be a technical issue with the gateway itself, rather than the connection quality. Please let us know if this helps!

Troubleshooting with the Smart Home Manager did not help.  Changing the

Network setting in the Mini to "Auto" places the NIC into 100BaseTX.  I cannot

get outside the Pace/Arris.  Drops 75% packets at a minimum on a ping from

the Mac to RG.  Setting the Mac to 1 Gb/sec does not change the situation.

This is a brand new Mac Mini M1 which I received last Thursday,  1/27/2022.

Brought it into the local Apple Store on Sunday at Apple Support suggestion.

They tested and did an erase install.  Machine functions i.e. ethernet on their network.  Retrieved it this morning. Looks like an interoperability issue between Acquantia Acq113 and Pace ethernet.  Was this tested?  If so what are the settings?

I am in the same boat with my Mac studio.  I have tried multiple ethernet cables, replacing the pace 5268 gateway with a new one and every setting variation under the sun.  Nothing has worked.

I got it to work i.e. delivering 1 Gb ethernet from the 10 Gb NIC by introducing

a cheap 1 Gb switch (Netgear) between my Mini and the Pace using a CAT6

cable.  Hope this helps.

@SunPropHead

Yes that will also enforce the proper setting on the Mac Studio. Newer switches enforce the proper 1 Gbps setting of Flow Control when both sides of the Ethernet connection are set to auto.

However it should work with out the need to add hardware. There are quite a few Posts around the web about it appearing to be tied the the Thunderbolt hardware in the Mac Studio.

After experiencing similar pain and suffering as the other posters, I solved this problem with my Mac Studio and the Pace router by placing a 1 GB simple switch between the computer and the router. The default settings for the ethernet ports on the router and the Mac Studio worked fine. ~900mb/s throughput

I am having problems with wired internet dropping out for a few seconds every 10-15 mins. This sounds like the same problem. Is it? Should I expect ATT to update the software in the modem.

I have no idea how to use Home Manager to fix this. @ATTHelp , any advice?
