IP passthrough setup does not work.

The router is NVG599 which provides two options for setting up an "IP passthrough" mode: option 1: ip passthrough. with this option I will not be able to connect any more after restart the router. option 2: default server. it kept connections. BUT I was NOT able to access the default server using any ports. Any idea?

I’ve used IP passthrough with the 599 in the past.  Why do you think you need it?   Hint: most people do not.

Also the 599 is no longer supported for firmware updates is my understanding. Att would send a BGW210 as a replacement.

Hey @wding, we understand that you are unable to get IP Passthrough configuration, Lets walk you through the right path and make it easy for you.

We suggest re-entering the IP Passthrough configuration, so that we can make sure everything is set up properly. To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. Factory reset your AT&T Gateway, to ensure that it has been completely brought back to its default settings. This will let us know that there are no other configurations that have been set up that could be causing the intermittent service.
  2. Use our Smart Home Manager application, and open the Network Health Check tool. This will check if there are any connection issues that are present on your network and show you how to resolve them. If everything looks fine, then go to the next step.
  3. Follow our Community Forums article for configuring IP Passthrough. These steps will apply for both the BGW320 and the BGW210.

Let us know if this helps!
