Installation

A tech was at my house yesterday to install my new service, he installed a fiber jack but the cover plate doesn't look like the one in these pictures which makes me wonder if he forgot the cover plate. The current plastic plate has little wholes that make it hard to clean. Is there a way I can ask for a replacement?

While agree with type of bracket used (010) if the tech did not have the newer streamlined ATT faceplate the choices were to reschedule the install to a future date or complete the install with equipment on their vehicle.

December is end of the quarter and end of the year which means not much is being shipped to garages as warehouses low till next year when the budget is replenished and equipment starts arriving back to garage. (Happens end of every quarter especially 4th quarter)

If have the techs number you could call him/her to see if a flat fiber plate is available or keep as is and call in mid to late January for a tech appointment to have the face plate replaced… or wait till have a future repair call and have it addressed at that time.

Pic would help, I suspect the tech installed a 010 ONT. Which gateway do you have?

That looks like an old 010 mounting bracket which is supposed to have an ONT attached.  AT&T isn't using separate ONTs anymore so the tech really shouldn't be using that bracket.

Update: the tech gave me his phone number and I called him to find out if I can have this replaced and he said he didn’t have the other plate style. I’m just a bit frustrated with this process, since we placed the equipment under a window were a closet door opens to, because he said the way I wanted it installed required management approval and no one was available to do so, I even have to pay for the extender because it was easier this way for him.

https://tiitech.com/wp-content/uploads/datasheets/fiber-wall-terminals/CCP7.pdf

the plate is CCP7-CVR, the base attached to the wall does not need replacing, just pop off the outer shell cover and snap in the new cover.

Amazon has the complete kit (base, coupler, cover) for $14 with free standard shipping.
