I have to reboot my modem about once a week.

I have to reboot my modem about once a week. The modem appears to become "saturated" and the speed drops to nothing. after a reboot all is fine

Hey @garyvanbooven, let's work to see why your Internet is dropping constantly!

Let's start by doing some Wi-Fi troubleshooting to see if it helps with the drops. Below are the steps needed:

  • Reboot your Gateway - Unplug your gateway for 15 seconds then plug it back in.
  • Factory reset your Gateway - This will restore your gateway settings to itd factory configuration. Be sure to jot down your custom settings, like your static IP address if you have one, or your Wi-Fi® network name (SSID). You can then change them back after the factory reset.
  • Remove any 3rd party equipment ~ This will let the AT&T equipment work on its own and clear it of the reason its dropping.
  • Run a test with Smart Home Manager - Running a test can help determine where the interference is coming from.

Let us know if you still see the frequent drops after trying these steps! If you are, we can go into a private message to further diagnose your network.

I have the same problem. All lights on my gateway remain on.  I have to manually reboot to get it to work again.

I should add it tends to happen Sunday or Monday night for me.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I have an Orbi connected (BGW radios off, but not set to AP mode) (also, the Orbi is not connected to the yellow Ethernet port) and I also used the other Ethernet ports on the BGW to connect directly to AppleTVs.  When I disconnected all Ethernet ports except for the Orbi, the problem went away, but I want to use those ports and not experience this issue.

Has anyone found a solution to this, because I have the same problem, at least once a week my wifi speeds drop to about 1 Mb/sec.

Open a new thread for yourself.  Provide as many details about your service and home network specifics if any.
