Let's get you back in the server, @someguy23452!
Since you have already reset and factory reset your gateway, we recommend opening the respective ports on your gateway for the Grand Theft Auto servers. You can use the aforementioned link to find the gateway you have and the steps to port forward.
The ports needing to be opened for Grand Theft Auto will take a bit of research to find as we are unable to provide that information.
If after performing these steps, you are still unable to play, let us know!

Thanks for getting back to us, someguy23452!
Try factory resetting your gateway to reestablish your connection to the server. Just locate the small red button and pinhole on the lower rear of the gateway and depress for ~15 seconds. Keep in mind that this will return all gateway settings to a default state. Any custom Wi-Fi passwords, Wi-Fi names, SSID, Static IP, and Port Forwarding rules will be lost, but they can be added back after the reset.
Hotspots aren't made for playing games like GTA, so we want to focus more on the "no connection" message. Are you having trouble with any other devices or with playing any other games?

Hi there, someguy23452. Thanks coming back and for trying the troubleshooting requested. Looks take a look deeper into your "no connection" concern while gaming.
You stated that you are using a hotspot to game with correct? Like Aminah from @ATTHelp stated, those types of devices are not really suitable for online gaming, because they do not provide enough speed. Thus, you can lose the connection because of the stream can slow down to a crawl or stop completely, which is what is happening in your case.
To make sure that we can provide the help that you need, can you provide the make and model of the hotspot that you are using and if it provided by AT&T wireless? This is just in case that we need to do through a replacement.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you for that informaiton, @someguy23452,
By chance do you have a third party router connected in your network? It's possible that the configuration on it is causing this issue. Also, have you tried using an Ethernet cable as your connection method for your console? Please give that a try and let us know if you continue to experience your concern.
Lastly, just to confirm, is only GTA that is having the issues? Are you experiencing this with any other games or even devices in the residence having connection issues? If it's more than just your console having the issue, this may point to the service or equipment being the issue.
We look forward to hearing back from you!

Thanks for letting us know, @someguy23452.
We recommend trying a different game to see if you're having the same trouble. This can help us to determine if what's going on is more widespread than just the one game.
We've got a great article full of solutions and known issues that can cause poor gaming experiences. Here are just a few things you can do:
In addition to giving the steps above a try, we suggest using the Smart Home Manager app to check for any Wi-Fi weak spots that may be preventing you from connecting to the online server. Here's how to do that from your mobile app:
We'll also need to know which Internet plan you're on. This can help to determine if your plan can handle the devices you have connected.
We look forward to hearing back from you!
