How do I connect my 2.4GHz smart plugs
I have new Fiber and a new Humax BGW320-500 modem. I set up the Guest WiFi which is 2.4Ghz to run my smart plugs but the modem keeps resetting the Guest WiFi to off every 48 hours. I was told by the AT&T Tech today that the new Fiber does not support a separate 2.4Ghz frequency split and I was out of luck. Anyone with a solution?

Let's work toward a solution for connecting your smart plugs together, @Seacatman!
We'd recommend accessing the Gateway User Interface (GUI) for your Wi-Fi gateway so that you can assign individual network names to your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels. Doing so will disable band steering and allow you to choose which network to connect your devices to.
Band steering is a feature that combines both the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks under the same name or SSID, and allows your devices to determine the best network to connect to. Sometimes, it's not the best option when devices need to connect to a specific network, as is the case for you at this time.
Accessing the GUI on any gateway is the same. Enter http://192.168.1.254 into a browser URL bar. Then, go to the Wi-Fi tab and then Advanced Settings. Once you are here you should see an SSID field to change either one or both of the names for the 2.4 and the 5 GHz channels.
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. We'll be happy to get you the answers you need.
