Gigapower Wireless speed

Will AT&T be offering a new router that can provide faster wireless speeds for Gigapower customers?  I only use wireless in my home so the "power" is of no use with the existing router.

Why don't you purchase your own 802.11ac router or access point instead of waiting for AT&T?

I know I can do that, but I was wondering if AT&T had a plan to offer their
own. Also, if I get my own then I have to run both routers, correct? I
need to Uverse router for TV, and then I can hook up the new router and
connect to it for wifi. Is that right?

Yes, you have to run the U-verse Residential Gateway (RG).  The other device would be in addition to it.  You can turn off the wireless on the RG.
