Extender Order; Replacement Gateway??

I’ve had the BGW320 for a few months, and the other day I ordered an extender from the AT&T website. In the shipment, they have included the Airties extender (compatible with the 320 per the specs) AND a BGW210. The app now says my gateway is ready for replacement. How do I NOT swap gateways as I want to keep the 320 and not downgrade? I’m so afraid this is going to get my account in a really screwed up state.

To be clear, I want to keep the extender and my newer 320 and send the replacement gateway I never asked for back without some sort of auto activation taking place.

We're here to help address your equipment return & billing concerns, @vcrtech.

So long as the BGW210 is returned, you shouldn't be charged any additional fees for keeping your BGW320. Just be sure to send the equipment back using the prepaid shipping label that should've been provided to you in the package you received (if you didn't receive a return shipping label, then feel free to return the equipment by taking it to a UPS/FedEX store and they'll take care of the rest for you).

If for any reason you do notice any misplaced charges on your bill, please don't hesitate to call our customer service line at 1(800)288-2020 and they'll be able to get your bill corrected for you.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, and thanks for reaching out on the AT&T Community Forums!

Thank you! Is there anything I need to do to get the 210 pulled off of my account as the “replacement” or will that happen once they receive it? Also, will activating the extender cause the replacement gateway to activate itself or am I safe to just return it?

Gateways don’t “activate themselves” unless they are connected to power, the att network and go through the setup process at your home. Just return the gateway at a ups store. Keep the paperwork from the ups store FOREVER. It’s your only proof you returned the gateway.

From what I’ve read, the extenders aren’t very good. Get a good mesh Wi-Fi system instead.

Provide some details on your need for an extender and we may be able to offer you advise to improve your wifi.

Att (Edited per community guidelines)ing (Edited per community guidelines). Same thing happened. All I ordered was an extender and now I have to take this stupid (Edited per community guidelines)ing gateway I never ordered back. ATT is the master of inconveniencing you and just basically saying (Edited per community guidelines) you with their “support”

Maybe don’t automatically order (Edited per community guidelines) without my confirmation att. Maybe let me cancel (Edited per community guidelines) you ordered in the app before it gets shipped out. Maybe work right and don’t be stupid as (Edited per community guidelines). Trash (Edited per community guidelines) company.
