Dual Band 2.4 and 5ghz
We have 1GB internet service.
The modem/router combo provided by AT&T has dual band feature. I have it turned off and manually connect some devices to 2.4 and others to 5.
Do you recommend using dual band feature to automatically select the best network for the device?
Not sure how good is the AT&T device with that.
Thoughts?
Current AT&T modem/router is in one corner of house upstairs in washing/dryer room where the connection is.
2 AT&T WiFi Extenders one upstairs and another downstairs.

I prefer separate SSIDs because it easier to troublehoot wifi problems and also to force certain devices to the band I want them on when they can't make figure it out on their own.

Although I've always had good results with band steering, some people definitely have devices that don't handle it well.
