Does router bgw320 allow for nat loopback
i am trying to hook up to a gaming grid, os grid, and i am having problems and it seems it traces back to a nat loopback situation

No, the AT&T Gateways do not fully support NAT loopback (or hairpin as it is sometimes called). Sometimes it will appear to function, albeit very slowly. You will either need to use the devices local, private IP number while inside your network, or acquire and use another router with the Gateway in IP Passthrough mode.
