current firmware version of the bgw210-700?

1. What is the current firmware version of the bgw210-700?

2. And how often does this update to a new version?

3. I keep seeing my modem reboot itself every day or two. Could a firmare update be causing this?

Everyone, I just downgraded my service back to one gig and I was able to keep the BGW 320 and I have not had any issues. I can almost guarantee that the reboots are tied to XPON being rolled out in your area and your BGW 210 is the common denominators. Just order the faster service get a new modem and then a few weeks later downgrade back to one gig service.

OK. So, the tech is going to remove my OTP (fiber switch) box, give me a new 320 gateway (cool!) with the built-in fiber connection. Sweet! ;)

I will let you know how things go.

Alright, the new BGW 320 is in place. All looks good. Another bonus - went from WiFi 5 to Wifi 6. Cool beans. Fingers crossed that reliability is back to 100%.

Incidentally - BGW 320 running firmware 3.15.7.

Hardware version - 02001E0046004F

Ugh...... :(

Had a gateway reboot again about 20 minutes ago. Unbelievable. This evidence now points to the prior post about some rollout of a change in AT&T's fiber network.

Anyway, the chat tech just now 'changed an advanced setting' on my router (won't tell me what) and claims my issue is resolved and it won't reboot again. She has told me she will follow up. We will see.

I just noticed the firmware has been updated to 3.20.5. I do NOT know if this happened overnight or if she just did this now. WIsh I had checked.

I will update as things progress. Thanks.

After talking with support last night, they overnighted a new BGW 210, which promptly rebooted after about 3 hrs of use.

Seems like there is no fix to this.

Well, I've gone 1 day, and 16 hours with no reboot. ;) We shall see.

The only thing I noticed in terms of changes (yes, there are TONS of settings in this O/S) was she created an explicit SSID for the 5G channel. I cannot BELIEVE that WiFi traffic or setup could cause random reboots of the gateway, especially as others across the country are seeing similar behavior.

Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, the first chat rep said he was looking at things, then presumably making changes. This time, after I lost the connection, it never came back. The gateway had a single steady white light (normal), but no connection. I had to pull the power and plug it back in. Called support. Can't really find anything wrong. Another tech is scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Now what?

At a minimum have them check the light signal coming to your modem and report back to findings. Don’t just let them tell you it’s good. Have them give you the actual number. Where do you live?

Have you asked them if your neighborhood infrastructure equipment has been upgraded to XPON? If the answer is yes did you happen to see if your wan ip changed when you went from the 210 to the 320? Mine did and was way different. If they did upgrade you to XPON did they move your strand over to the XPON side in the PFP?

Thanks for the info and questions. One quick note - my WAN IP is unchanged.

I will ask the tech the questions you posed, thanks again!
