BGW320-500 rebooting itself too often

Manufacturer HUMAX
Model Number BGW320-500
Software Version 3.20.5

I had the previous router and had no rebooting issues. When I first got this router, I had no issues. But recently (past two weeks or so) this thing restarts itself too often, and it's beginning to cause problems in my professional life.

I called tech support, and the guy claimed to have installed new firmware and told me that the issue has been cleared up, but he was wrong, because the reboots continue. Any ideas? I cannot have this!

Hey swardet. Thanks for reaching out about the intermittent Internet service you've been experiencing, and we'd be happy to help you.

In order to further assist with this, we'll need to meet you in a Direct Message. Please check your Direct Message inbox (it's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums).

We look forward to hearing from you.

We're not sure why but we've seen a number of issues like this on the BGW320 get fixed by disabling IPv6.  Might be worth a shot.

Go HERE then enter the Access Code as shown on the back of the gateway and change IPv6 to OFF and then click the Save button.

🤞🤞

@tonydi
Are you with ATT, and have you confirmed this to resolve my specific issue? I have no need for IPv6 anyway, so this will not impact me in the slightest, so I have disabled it as you've suggested.

I am not with AT&T (thank heaven for small favors!) and if you search through the forums you'll see a growing number of people we've suggested this to and it seems to work.  As you said, no downside for 99% of the user base (and you'd know if you're in the 1%) so it's worth a shot.
