BGW320-500 randomly reverts to default and wipes custom configs

I have a BGW320-500 and have specified custom settings in the modem such as: disable Wifi, disable IPv6, use custom packet filter rules, use custom NAT/Gaming settings, and assign static IP addresses to devices on my home network.

My modem and custom settings work fine for several weeks/months until something happens (like perhaps ATT pushing an update to the modem).

Afterwards, all my custom settings are gone.
Default settings are active, like I didn't spend time configuring my modem at all --when, in fact, I did.

Wifi is enabled, all custom packet filter rules are gone, custom NAT/Gaming settings are gone, and I have to go about enabling and assigning static IP addresses all over again.

This is really annoying.

Is there a way that I can somehow save all my active settings to be the "default value" after ATT pushes an update?

Edit:
I have the modem on its own UPS battery backup. So power loss is not the cause.
The link to UFix does not offer any help.

In the past, the Att Smart Home Manager app seemed to have some sort of settings reload ability, but since you’re already in this predicament, I’d actually start first with a hard factory reset.  Let things settle down and ensure the device has been updated to the latest firmware version.  After that, try laying down a new coat of paint.

Hi @WestTexasToe,

Thanks for reaching us.

We understand your concern with regard to BGW320 configuration. Let's get the help you need.

As per @gr8sho's input, please try factory resetting your gateway. This will return all gateway settings to a default state. Any custom Wi-Fi passwords, Wi-Fi names, SSID, Static IP, and Port Forwarding rules will be lost. Then you can restore the settings.

If the issue still persists, the Community Forums are a public support option where other users, and AT&T, will try and assist with high level support needs. This means we won’t be able to look into account specific concerns. To get the help you need for your unique issue, please review our Contact Us page, and choose the best option to reach out to us.  You can call, chat, or reach out via social media and we can review your specific issue and provide you support.  If you feel your issue isn’t account specific, and can be answered generally, please let us know and we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you.

So this is a screenshot of the modem's system information.

Today is Feb. 11, 2024

I'm not going to default my modem (again) after it already had been defaulted..., especially since I have already took the time to configure it and everything now works as it should.

Should this situation happen again, I'll post another screenshot. It might be weeks or months.

There is new firmware level being pushed out.  What’s supposed to happen is the device will reboot after the update but is supposed to retain user settings.

Also, no one is suggesting the need to do frequent factory resets.  If you ask Att for help, they might ship another gateway which would be the equivalent of it as the hardware itself seldom fails.
