Best modem for the Fiber Internet 1000 service?

I have just gotten the Fiber 1000 unlimited plan and they installed an AT&T Gateway/router.  I already have a network set up with a couple Netgear Black Hawk routers, so I really just need a good modem.  What is the best modem for the fiber that is compatible?

Can anyone tell me if the Linksys® EA9500 Max-Stream™ AC5400 MU-MIMO Gigabit WiFi Router will work with AT&T 1,000 fiber?

What Modem will work instead of renting the AT&T one?

I have a Google mesh which worked great before ATT, but DMZ+ mode is not stopping the ATT modem interfering with the mesh so I'm going to have to drop ATT, even though I love the speed the stability (Edited per community guidelines).

@garyjlavin Can you please clarify in what manner the ATT modem interfered with Google mesh? I’m also hoping to use my existing Google mesh pods and haven’t had much luck finding any success stories.

Following this.

Have ATT Fiber with default modem. Using with google mesh system (3) in a 3000 sq ft house. Have home automation (25-35 devices connected) and the wifi (Edited per community guidelines)..

Have two heavy gamers in the house and a ton of connected devices as stated above.... everything drops in and out of connection.

Ideas for upgrade?

Router, Extender etc. etc.

I was digging around and saw several people claim that you can get true bridge mode by disabling WIFI and DHCP on the ISP modem. They claimed the router will handle all DHCP bypassing your ISP modem.

We're here to help @Evan Shaw.

What you can try doing is a IP-Passthrough that will help with that. Please let us know if it works for you.

@ATTHelp your link for the IP passthrough was for Arris BGW210-700, is there any info on the Pace 5268? Is the Pace 5268 the most up to date gateway available from ATT, we have had it for about 3 1/2 years.

I've got the att 1000 fiber optic plan using att's BGW210 modem router combo and can't even get a decent signal to my att wireless tv box that's literally only 8ft away right outside on our back porch and the very best download speed of 156! I've got 3 wireless tv boxes, 2 Amazon 4k firesticks, 2 cell phones and 1 samsung tablet. I now have ran ethernet cables directly to 2 of the att tv boxes and 1 firestick to help stop buffering but wifi signal still socks badly and other firestick, tv box, cell phones and tablet buffer continuously! In layman's terms,  can someone tell me which modem and/or router to buy to help with range and speed??

The IP-Passthrough instructions end with:

If you need further assistance with your IP Passthrough setup and configuration contact ConnecTech Support.

"ConnecTech Support" is a dead link. Are they trying to tell us something?

Hello to all. I recently upgraded to att 1000 before I had no issues with my internet at att100, now since upgrade to 1000 it seems as if  they are blocking sites & apps. Some apps say internet connection & some just take for ever to load up ex. Buffer ring... what can I do?
