AT&T Fiber & EERO
Will be signing up with AT&T fiber and using the EERO mesh setup. Want to know which modem works best with the EERO system/hardware/software. I want to maximize the full potential of the EERO system.
If I know which modem(s) I'd be working with, perhaps I could specify one. :-)

No, I was looking for the make/model of the wifi device you were using to test with. Those numbers can be perfectly reasonable depending on the device.
You'll never get within sniffing distance of 1Gbps on wifi without WiFi6E on the router and device side.

That makes sense. My Eero device only supports Wi-Fi 6 so in order to get anywhere near 1Gbps, I would have to upgrade the eero devices to 6e. The device I used was my iPhone 14 pro max and iPhone 14 pro.

@jmcwhite The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max do not support WiFi 6e. They do support the sub-6GHz and mW cellular technology for 5G but that's it. Both are limited to WiFi 6 with 2x2 MIMO.

I would expect a bit more from those phones if they were fairly close to the eero router but there are so many variables that can affect it. Unfortunately eero doesn't provide access to some of the more important settings that could drive those numbers higher.
That being said, I know people want big speed numbers on wifi when the speeds you're getting are already way overkill for anything I can conceive of doing on a phone. What really counts is connection stability.

@tonydi I agree. I have an iPhone 12 and it connects to WiFi 6 (not 6e) to my WiFi 6 router and is very stable and reliable. The speed bump to WiFi 6 is nice but not a noticeable "wow" factor. Reliability and stability is more important.
