ATT Fiber down every 2-3 days!

Hi, we just switched from Xfinity to ATT Fiber.   Internet is super fast (wired and wireless) when it works, but every 2-3 days the internet goes down!  90% of the time, we just need to reset the BGW210 router and internet comes back.  10% of time requires reboot the PON device.  What is going on?!

We're here to help you stabilize your Internet connection, @tonyong99.

Let's see if a factory reset helps. This will restore the gateway to its original settings and refresh and reestablish the connection. Here are the steps:

  • Locate the small red button & pinhole on the lower rear of the gateway
  • Depress for ~15 seconds.

We'd also like for you to check out our guide on how to optimize your Internet connection. Several things can impact a connection (and speed), from electronic clutter around the gateway to the number of devices that are connected.

Let us now if you still lose connection after troubleshooting!

Factory reset did not work.  Wifi lasted 5days.  Wan side is fine because I can connect to the router and run speed test. None of the client devices can connect to the WiFi. Tried for more than 10minutes

Hello @ tonyong99,

We understand the gravity of your concern and let’s get the help you need.

We recommend that you follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Turn your device on.
  2. Unplug your phone from the wall jack. Plug it into the back of the device.
  3. Place a test call from your connected home phone. Be sure to include the area code.
  4. Connect to the internet (requires an AT&T Wireless Internet data plan).

Also, please click on the website to have a better understanding on your concern.

We hope this helps!
